Colonna is a small table lamp with a pleated fabric column shade set on a turned solid wood base. Measuring 6.3 inches across and 12.2 inches tall, it brings a soft, vintage inspired warmth to a nightstand, desk, bookshelf or console, and the pleated texture adds gentle interest even when the lamp is switched off.

The base comes in rich walnut or lighter natural wood, so it can match bedroom furniture, flooring or shelving. The fabric shade diffuses the light into an even, cosy glow that is ideal for winding down in the evening, reading a few pages before sleep or adding ambient light to a living room corner. The USB version runs at 5 volts from any USB port or adapter with a 3 watt LED already built in, so there is no bulb to buy, and it comes as fixed warm light or infinitely dimmable. The plug in version runs from a standard outlet and takes an E26 bulb; an LED bulb is the right choice behind the fabric shade. The lamp is designed for indoor dry locations only.

Which version should I buy, USB or plug in?

The USB version runs at 5V from any USB port with a 3W LED already inside, so there is no bulb to buy, and it comes as fixed warm light or infinitely dimmable. The plug in version runs on mains and takes a standard E26 bulb you supply. USB is the simpler of the two and the one we would pick for a nightstand.
The plug in version is listed as 3 Colors Changeable, but it takes my own bulb. How does that work?

That is a contradiction in the supplier's data, and a fair question. Colour switching normally requires the fixture's own LED, which the plug in version does not have if the bulb is user supplied. We have asked the supplier to clarify whether the plug in version actually ships with a colour changing bulb. Until they answer, do not buy the plug in version for the colour switching. Ask us first.
